THE FLUE GAS EMISSION FROM GENERATOR EXHAUST SHALL COMPRISE OF homogeneous mixture of un burnt black carbon particulate matter , Sox, Nox , Hydro Carbons (HC), CO2, CO and oil contents. Each constituent is a matter and is formed by aggumelaration of the small sub micronics particulate matter. The gaseous contents like Sox, Nox, HC the product of combustion are having particulate size distribution which vary from 0.001 micron to 1 micron and is formed by the small sub micronic particulate matter having different physical and chemical properties and it contributes and it increases the total particulate matter concentration ( 0.01 micron to 40micron) in the flue gas exhaust. As per the guidelines the particulate matter (PM2.5) removal with more than 70% efficiency means that all the pollutants generated in flue Gas Exhaust .( HC, Sox, Nox etc ) shall be 100% removed in order to have clean air suitable for Human Being i..e of Respiratory quality
EXHAUST EMISSION FROM GENERATOR SETa) Un burnt particulate matter (PM) from Generator exhaust is mostly un burnt carbon or black soot which is present in the flue gases. PM , present is a homogeneous mixture of black carbon with particulate matter size varies from 0.01 micron to 40 micron or above. The size diameter of these un burnt carbon black is very small and is usually not visible by the necked eye. The smallest visible size to human eye is 10 micron(µm) . This black carbon gives a black colour to the flue gases. If the black soot particles less than 10/um (10x10-6m) are removed from flue gas. The flue gas become transparent The removal of particulate matter (PM2.5) with greater than 70% efficiency means removal of all the gaseous pollutants generated during combustion of HSD/LDO / Furnace oil in DG Sets after treatment in pollution control systems shall exhaust flue gases not hazardous for Human Life / Respiratory purpose.
b) Sox: Most of the fossil fuels carry sulphur which get oxidized to sulphur oxides in the combustion process. These SOX have a tendency to form acidic fumes when coming in contact with the moisture in the atmosphere. They are highly soluble in water and have a tendency to turn the water acidic and have to be neutralized using alkalies.
c) CO and HC: These are generated due to incomplete combustion of Hydro carbons. These are removed or by Absorption/ Adsorption process by increasing retention time, rate of diffusion and aggumelaeration of the particulate matter.
d) NOx- Nitrous compound are comprise of (NO + NO2) are most Hazardous components and responsible for Acid rain and ozone depletion. These are removed by process of adsorption and / or absorption in Packed Tower Scrubber by process of neutralization . with HNO3 or NH3
